IF YOU FIND A DEAD BIRD: Call West Nile Virus Surveillance Hotline

The Will County Health Department Environment Health Division reminds you that if you see a dead bird on your property, please call our hotline to report it.  WCHD EH will contact you to determine if the bird can be sent for testing.  The most common birds to carry West Nile Virus (which is transmitted from birds to humans through the bite of a Culex mosquito) are Robins, Blue Jays, and Crows.
